Founded in 1946, Jilin University is a national key comprehensive university in Changchun, Northeast China, under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education. It was included in China’s Project 211 and Project 985 initiatives and is among the first universities selected for Double First-Class development.
The university spans medicine, engineering, science, humanities, social sciences, agriculture and other fields. Its schools combine undergraduate teaching with graduate education and research, giving students a broad academic setting in which to develop their interests. Jilin University operates across seven campuses in six locations in Changchun, so the day-to-day student experience depends on the school and program.

Apply for Student Visa (X Visa)
Use your Pre-Admission Letter and JW202 form to apply for a Chinese Student Visa at your nearest Chinese embassy.

Arrive & Register on Campus
Travel to Changchun, complete campus registration within the specified date, attend orientation, and begin your studies.

How It Works
Unlike many Chinese universities that advertise upfront scholarships, Jilin University’s scholarship is merit-based and genuinely accessible — awarded to 70% of the cohort after each semester.
Students are assessed on academic performance in university examinations and overall class conduct. The top 70% in each class receive 8,000 RMB, credited annually.
No separate scholarship application is required. No interviews. No financial eligibility criteria. Your academic performance is the only requirement.
